REVIEW: Three Dark Crowns by Kendare Blake - Valeria

Goodreads Description:
Every generation on the island of Fennbirn, a set of triplets is born: three queens, all equal heirs to the crown and each possessor of a coveted magic. Mirabella is a fierce elemental, able to spark hungry flames or vicious storms at the snap of her fingers. Katharine is a poisoner, one who can ingest the deadliest poisons without so much as a stomachache. Arsinoe, a naturalist, is said to have the ability to bloom the reddest rose and control the fiercest of lions.

But becoming the Queen Crowned isn’t solely a matter of royal birth. Each sister has to fight for it. And it’s not just a game of win or lose…it’s life or death. The night the sisters turn sixteen, the battle begins. The last queen standing gets the crown.

If only it was that simple. Katharine is unable to tolerate the weakest poison, and Arsinoe, no matter how hard she tries, can’t make even a weed grow. The two queens have been shamefully faking their powers, taking care to keep each other, the island, and their powerful sister Mirabella none the wiser. But with alliances being formed, betrayals taking shape, and ruthless revenge haunting the queens’ every move, one thing is certain: the last queen standing might not be the strongest…but she may be the darkest.

When I first heard about this book a few months back I was like FUCK YES! THIS IS MY JAM! I NEED THIS
Then my library got the book and I was like oh hell yes! Finally and then I got right into the book
What the fuck
Im so confused
I thought the book was going to be a lot more bad ass and it was all a huge love fest.
All of them were like oh no, my love, I need my love.
Like...
Just..
No
Like... I was super dissapointed. Let me explain
This book left me with a lot of questions about how the whole, need to kill each other thing started. Or how a lot of things came to be for that matter. A whole lot is left to the imagination and it sucks because this is why I read. I have no imagination!
Throughout the whole book instead of getting into detail about why the Quickening needs to happen and why it was even started, their love interest are thrown into our face and to be honest. I feel nothing for them.
There isnt enough background to them for me to feel attached and actually root for them.
It all felt like a bad summary of a book, as if someone was trying to make some fan fiction for a book that is already out there and that we should have read in order to understand this one
If that makes any sense
This is why I dont write books guys
Cuz I know I would suck

Recommend it?

Ehm... Not really no
