Seafire by Natalie C. Parker is a wondrous story about an all-girls ship crew. The go around fighting off the people who make life miserable for others and they do a damn good job at it. But that's not all they do. In essence, this is a revenge book. And REVENGE WILL BE HAD. Just... maybe not in this book?
Caledonia Styx is the captain of the Mors Navis. She is tough as nails and runs a crew of all equally tough girls. Why does she run this crew? Oh, you know, because the Bullets murdered her parents, brother and previous crew. The only people to survive were herself and her best friend, Pi. Pi lost her family and brother as well. But, they are about to find out some news that will change their lives.
After a rather brutal battle, injuries are acquired and damaged to the ship is pretty bad but after some events, the girls end up taking a Bullet from the other ship hostage. His name is Oran and he tells the girls something they can't believe. Something so pivotal that they are all willing to risk their lives to go after.
In the end, I HATE how this book ended. No, it wasn't bad but DEAR LORD HAVE MERCY it ended on the biggest cliffhanger and it's driving me crazy not knowing the fate of the crew and Caledonia. Book two now, please?
Overall, I gave the book 4.5/5 stars.
