We go on a whole new adventure with the characters Percy and Annabeth in this book.
From the beginning we get introduced to a new character by the name of Tyson. He isn't the kind of character you would expect, but he is very loyal and would do anything to make sure his friends stayed protected.
Not only do we get introduced to a new character, but also new creatures that they meet along the way and who they also have to battle.
Percy managed to go almost a whole school year without causing any trouble except for the last day of school where it starts off the new adventure.
A quest is given to another character and yet Percy, Annabeth and Tyson go on the quest anyway even though they are not supposed to. To help them on their quest the god Hermes helped them out and I liked that some other god helped them on their journey. It showed that they are not bad people.
All the while Percy has been having dreams where Grover is in trouble. You learn it is called an empathy link and it can be deadly. I find it an interesting component for both Percy and Grover.
Percy, Annabeth and Tyson continue on their journey you come to find out that Grover is running out of time.
We get to see the characters develop more in the story on their new quest. Annabeth is a good strategist. When the characters get themselves into a tough spot Annabeth comes up with a way to get them out of it.
Throughout their quest Annabeth starts to slowly open up to Percy about things from her past. Because she starts to do this you get a sense of those two getting closer together. We get a sense of how deep Percy will go to protect those he cares about even if it means he may die because of it and I really like seeing that in a character.
One thing I really am enjoying is how fast paced this series is and all of the action. It keeps the story exciting and keeping you on the edge of your seat because you have to know what happens next.
When Hermes came up to Percy the first time to help them on their quest he said one thing that really reached me because it’s about how difficult family can be. “My dear young cousin, if there's one thing I've learned over the eons, it's that you can’t give up on your family, no matter how tempting they make it. It doesn't matter if they hate you, or embarrass you…”
Overall, I gave the book 5/5 stars.

I read this one and really liked it! I love all the Percy Jackson books! Rick Riordan is such a talented writer. I love how he brings mythology to life. :)
